Harris, Don

Don Harris (born Topsfield, MA – died June 8, 2023) was an American trumpet player. He was best known for touring with Tower of Power from June through December of 1997 and for his work with Nile Rodgers and Chic. After finishing Berklee College of Music and working with Ellis Hall and others, Harris lived in Brazil for nine years making records as a studio musician (about 250 records in all). After returning to the U.S., he worked with The Temptations, The Rippingtons, Michael McDonald, James Taylor, Michael Bolton, Big Picnic, Funk Filharmonik, and was musical director for The Thunderclub All-Star Band featuring Julio Fernandes (Spyro Gyra), Gene Perez (Masters at Work & Willie Colon), Rod Cohen (Buddy Miles), Kevin Hupp (Rick Derringer), Gerrardo Velez (Jimi Hendrix), and The Harris Brothers Horns.
