Weissberg, Eric

Eric Weissberg (August 16, 1939, New York City, NY – March 22, 2020, Owings Mills, MD) was an American singer, banjo player and multi-instrumentalist, best known for playing solo in "Dueling Banjos", featured as the theme of the movie Deliverance (1972) and released as a single that reached number 1 in 1973 in the United States and Canada.

Notably, Weissberg, with his band Deliverance, was recording their album Rural Free Delivery at Blauvelt's 914 Sound Studios at the same time Bruce and the E Street Band were there recording The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle.
