Shabalala, Joseph

Joseph Shabalala (August 28, 1941, Ladysmith, South Africa – February 11, 2020, Pretoria, South Africa), born Bhekizizwe Joseph Siphatimandla Mxoveni Mshengu Bigboy Shabalala, was the founder of the South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. He sang in the group and served as its musical director until his retirement in 2014.
