Karaban, Thomas

Thomas V. Karaban (February 17, 1945, New York – August 1, 1998, New Jersey) was an American philanthropist who, along with his wife Peggy Karaban, founded the Rainbow Foundation in 1984. Created as a year-round means to provide, primarily, monetary "on-the-spot" assistance with medical necessities for children, with funds going to cover such things as medicine, equipment or existing bills so that families do not have to worry, the Foundatoin also expanded to run a Holiday-season drive to collect bags of toys for children through New Jersey’s social services agencies.
