Scott, Toby

Toby Scott is an award winning record producer, engineer and sound mixer. He has worked extensively with Bruce Springsteen, recording and mixing albums for the singer since 1978. He first broke into the professional ranks in 1975, when Chuck Plotkin asked him to join his staff at Clover Recorders. His first association with Springsteen was mixing "Prove It All Night" in 1978. In 1981, after helping to mix The River, he moved to the New York. Toby was personally responsible for recording and archiving not only Springsteen's studio and live output, but a variety of other acts as well. Scott has worked with Bob Dylan, Bette Midler, The Manhattan Transfer, Booker T & The M.G.s, Tommy Tutone, Steven Van Zandt, Robert Palmer, Blue Öyster Cult, and The Replacements. Managing and training personnel, along with acquiring and maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and facilities were under his domain, as well as working with Bruce and Sony to catalog and archive musical assets. He stepped down in 2017 to return to Whitefish, Montana, where he runs his own studio and production business in the shadow of Glacier National Park.
