Overview

The Collection 1973-84 is an import-only eight CD box set containing Bruce Springsteen's first seven albums from the early seventies to the early eighties. Each disc is packaged in a mini LP card slipcase, all housed in a red box. It reveals how his career development went in emotional waves, with the wordy urgency of his debut of his R&B street-opera style on The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle, which then lead to his breakthrough with Born to Run, before his three-year recording exile resulted in the softer, more thoughtful characters of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, whose interest in social duty and blue-collar work found their way on The River before hardening into a more darker side on the solo Nebraska. Then finally, with Born In The USA, Springsteen found a way to create something more poppier, that really spoke to the masses. Box includes a 16 page booklet.
