Video Anthology / 1978-1988 is a collection of 18 music videos made on his behalf, released in VHS format on January 31, 1989. In March 1989, it was certified 3x Platinum for over 300,000 copies sold. It was reissued as The Complete Video Anthology / 1978-2000 by Sony on DVD on January 16, 2001, adding a second disc with 15 additional music videos or other clips, making it a collection of over 33 music videos. It is therefore a taped retrospective of one of rock's most illustrious and successful singer/songwriters. This two-disc DVD compilation spans Bruce Springsteen's music video career, featuring such songs as "Born to Run," "The River," "Born in the U.S.A.," "Dancing in the Dark," "Brilliant Disguise," "Human Touch," "Murder Incorporated," "Secret Garden," "Dead Man Walkin'," and "The Ghost of Tom Joad," just to name a few.
