I remember my pop would sit there waiting for me…..sitting there in the dark ……and I’d come in and I’d try to…..try to make it thru the kitchen to go up to my room……(?)…. he’d call my name…..to come sit down and talk to him for a while … we’d sit there in the dark…..I remember I could always hear his voice…..but I could never see his face…. we’d talk about mostly nothing…..what I was doing in school (?)….he’d start asking me what I thought I was doing with myself….where I was getting my money from……(?)….pretty soon we’d start screaming at each other…..my mom’d come in from the frontroom……to keep us from fighting with each other …..and I’d be running out the backdoor…..telling him that it was my life…..I could do what I wanted to do…..”
