03.10.88 Athens, Greece, intro to ‘My Hometown’
´´(?) How you doing out there ?….enjoying the show tonight ?….that´s good, that´s good…. when I was a kid….I got, I got a sense of so many things from rock and roll music….I got a sense of life and what living could be about….I got a sense of fun and good times…..I got a sense of sex…..but I think that most of all….I got a sense of freedom…..from all my favorite rock and roll singers, off any one of those records, I always heard….a small transcending moment of freedom….I think that the best rock and roll….has always made freedom….so tonight you got a big opportunity…you got an opportunity to let your voice….the voice of your hometown be heard all around the world….you got an opportunity to raise your voice ….for the freedom and decency and the right of every man, woman and child….in joining Amnesty International, you get a chance to put your freedom in work winning and defending the freedom of others….so ….I don´t know, we´ve done so much travelling on this tour….and I guess a lot of times it seems….it seems like there are so many different worlds….but in the end, it´s the same world….it´s one world….and we live different lives but we dream the same dreams…so tonight when you leave, you´ll be taking our dreams with you….so go out and do well by them….and let…the voice of freedom ring…. Απο την πόλη μου στήν πόλη σας (note :which means "From my hometown to your hometown")…”
