´´Now I wanna tell you a story….it´s kind of a fable but it´s mostly a true story….when I was a young man, I walked as a little child…. you remember how when you were a child, if you were out playing in the forest (?) evening coming on beginning to frighten you…..and as you stood before the trees….with your home on the other side, you were frightened to move through those trees….now, when we grow up, we….are supposed to put our childish fears away but we don´t really do that……and so as a young man I found myself alone standing in that forest, in front of that dark grove of trees, frightened to pass through them to what I knew was on the other side, which was the river of life….and the river of love….and cold beer at a reasonable price…..but most important, the river of meaning, some place where you can stand and build for yourself a meaningful life, something that we all have to do for ourselves….now, I realised I, I couldn´t pass through because I was alone but tonight I wanna go to that river of life and I want you to come with me….and I want to go with you…. so help me now….(sings ´Take Me to the River´)….now, as I stood before that grove of trees, the only thing that led me on and helped me go through was I heard something so sweet coming from just a little deeper inside the forest, play it, Roy (Roy plays) it was Professor Roy Bittan on the piano….playing in the middle of the goddamn woods, I don´t know how he got there !….and so I went on through the forest a little further in search of friendship….come on, Steve (Steve plays a bit of ´Soul Man´) Stevie Van Zandt on the guitar ….playing in the middle of the woods…..and so I walked on a little further and I heard something real low (Garry plays a bit of ´Expressway to Your Heart´) Mr.Garry Tallent on the bass guitar….(?) in the middle of the woods…..oh,. he´s on the expressway to your heart (laughs)….come on, Max (Max plays) Mighty Max Weinberg on the drums….star of Late Night Television….there in the middle of the woods….and so I was getting my courage up now and I was starting to feel pretty good and I walked on, come on, Nils (Nils plays) Nils Lofgren on the guitar….and so now I didn´t feel so alone and I was walking on…..and I heard something, it scared me just a little bit ´cause it sounded like the wind whistling through the trees….and I could hear a spirit moving, come on, Dan (Dan plays) Phantom Dan Federici on the organ and accordion….and so I walked on…..now, I was feeling a little better but I still felt a coldness in my heart and I felt so lonely….and then I looked up in the trees and I saw the bluebird of love flying from branch to branch….and the bluebird came down and nestled on my shoulder….I got a little thing about birds, I´m a little scared of ´em, you know, but he nestled on my shoulder, came to my ear and said….´Listen, brunettes are fine, blondes are fun but when it comes to getting a dirty job done, you need a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) oh, you´ve got find yourself a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) man, you´re gonna be looking for a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) oh, go and find yourself a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) yeah, man, I´m searching for my (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) oh, man, I´m looking for a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) yeah, man, I´ve got to find a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’) oh, said I´m searching for a (crowd :‘Red Headed Woman’)(Patti sings a bit of ´Rumble Doll´) Miss Patti Scialfa on the guitar and vocals….my baby, the red headed woman….thank you, baby….now, I was almost to the edge of the trees and I could see the river glistening in the sun….there were people there….I could see ´em…..and they were waiting for me…..but before I could get there, there was still something missing….something really, really essential….something really, really important….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ? ….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….say who ?….”

‘‘(?)….here’s a song about blowing a good thing…..(?)….everybody’s done that…..had some blessing that they didn’t take into account….and let it go out the window….and you wake up ….you know, you’ve taken advantage of that….maybe a woman that you had…..doing what you wanna do…..and then she’s gone and….then you’re on the phone, ‘Oh baby, I’ve changed’ (chuckles)…Max, help me out…..”
