18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “Radio Nowhere”
“New York City! (crowd cheers) is there anybody alive out there? (crowd cheers)…”

18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “Magic”
“Good evening, everyone (crowd cheers) it´s good to be in New York (crowd cheers)…oh…thanks…this is the, uh, title song from our new album…we´ve just lived through…six years where…what´s true can be made to seem like a lie and what´s a lie can be made to seem true and uh…and it´s worked (chuckles)…so, uh…it´s the old, you know, “you can fool some of the people some of the time, all the people all of the time, a lot of the people (?)”…this is, uh, this is called “Magic” but it´s not really about magic, it´s about tricks…”

18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “Livin´ in the Future”
“Good evening, New York City! (crowd cheers) hello, hello, hello!… I´m so glad to be here in your beautiful city tonight (crowd cheers) …oh yes, this is a song called “Livin´ in The Future”…but it´s about what´s happening right now!…how along with all the things that we love about America and about where we come from – the Jersey Shore, cheeseburgers (crowd cheers) the Bill of Rights (crowd cheers) the Bill of Rights has gotta get louder applause than cheeseburgers, I´m sure, the Bill of Rights! (crowd cheers louder) damn, people!…New York City, we love (crowd cheers) what else do we love? oh yeah, the Statue of Liberty (crowd cheers) technically in New Jersey, of course (crowd cheers) I, I don´t, the New York football team, (?) Giants (crowd cheers) of course they play in New Jersey, I don´t wanna mention that (crowd cheers) and then, uh, you know the other thing I love, Steve, I love, uh, you know, “the, the little town shoes,” uh, “New York, New York” – sung by a guy from New Jersey, now that I think…well, along with all those things that we love about our home and where we come from, over the past six years we´ve had to add to the American picture like rendition, illegal wiretapping, the rolling-back of civil liberties, no Habeas Corpus, the right to defend yourself against charges brought against you…now, because of the color of your skin or your circumstance or your religion, you may feel that these things don´t have much effect on you but all these things are an attack on our Constitution, which means they are an attack on our very selves and who we are and our moral authority and the pride that we have when we get to stand up and say “We are the Americans” (crowd cheers) so this is a song about sleeping through things that shouldn´t have happened here but happened…so we´re gonna do something about it right now - we´re gonna sing about it
(chuckles) it´s a start, the rest is up to us, ready?…Max!…”

18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “Tougher Than the Rest”

“Woo! “Thank you, New York City! (crowd cheers) two incredible nights, thank you, great audiences, thank you so much…woo!…alright, gonna send this one out to our friends, uh, the World Hunger Year and the New York City Coalition against Hunger, they are our guests in the auditorium tonight, you´ll see them on the way in and out…if you can, please support them, give them a hand…please bring that back…World Hunger Year´s been working for a long time, 35 million Americans go to bed hungry every night, World Hunger Year´s been out there trying to do something about it…they connect those in need to food pantries, shelters, government programs across the U.S, please remember them and also the New York City Coalition against Hunger…those are our good friends out there tonight, they´re on the frontline doing God´s work, please assist them…alright, we´ll do this one to, uh, this goes out to the girls, I wish they all could be New York City girls (crowd cheers)…”

18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “Thundercrack”
“This was a song that was our original showstopper…before there was anybody at the show to stop (chuckles) but, uh, we played this at Max´s Kansas City…it was a double-bill, it was a 150-seat club, it was us and Bob Marley and the Wailers (chuckles) I think there were some empty seats (chuckles)…”

18.10.07 New York City, NY, intro to “American Land”
