“Thank you, thank you, we thank you for coming out to our opener (crowd cheers) thank you so much…we appreciate it, this has been a real quick turnaround for our band, I don’t know when we’ve put a record out and got back out on tour that soon since the ‘70s (crowd cheers) and you weren’t even born till the eight, till the ‘90s right there (chuckles)(?) but, uh, we had great, great tours through the States during the “Magic” and, uh, just looking forward to this, we just want to thank you, you’ve been an incredible audience tonight, thanks for setting us off on fire (crowd cheers) appreciate it…this was kind of my neck of the woods for about thirty years, my mom lived up in San Mateo (crowd cheers) so I used to, uh, I used to run my motorcycle there all, all into those mountains and up along the coast, it was so beautiful, I miss that (crowd cheers) but anyway…as you know, we’re going through some of the toughest times the country has seen in a century and it’s put an incredible amount of stress on the grassroots agencies that provide the safety net for the folks that’ve been hit the hardest by what’s happened and, uh, it’s sort of a time when we all gotta double down a little bit, there’s some folks in the hall tonight, you know, we know a night out is expensive but if you can get a chance to pass some up and give them a little support, we’d appreciate that (crowd cheers) we’ve got the Second Harvest Foodbank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties (crowd cheers) Second Harvest Foodbank, they’ve provided services to this community for 35 years, they’re the seventh largest foodbank in the country, they provide food to an average of 176,000 individuals each month and right now that number unfortunately is growing, if you read your newspaper, you see how folks that have gotten by, that have had jobs and have worked hard, are falling out of the middle class and these are the only folks that they can depend on right now when times get very tough, they provide the basics of, of, of life for them so please if you can, help the Second Harvest Foodbank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, we appreciate it (crowd cheers) this is a song (clears his throat) this is a song by Stephen Foster, he wrote it in 1855, which, I guess, shows, uh, the more things change, the more they stay the same sometimes…”
