“I have been here many times before (crowd cheers) I have been here…many times before (crowd cheers) and still we come back (crowd cheers) because what we need to do tonight…we can’t do by ourselves (crowd cheers) no matter how mighty the E Street Band is…no matter how strong they’re gonna play tonight…we can’t do what we came here to do by ourselves (crowd cheers) we…need… you! What are you gonna surprise us with?”…and so I went into my room and I started to think and I realized Stockholm was one of the first cities we ever came to when we left the United States (crowd cheers) we were, uh, 25 years old (chuckles) and, uh…it was, uh…miraculous for us at the time and to stand here tonight so many, so many lovely voyages here behind us and to be greeted as we are greeted when we come here year after year after year (crowd cheers) we want to thank you all and all your friends and all your relatives for making us a part of your life, for making us a part of your culture, for making us a part of Sweden and Stockholm, thank you (crowd cheers) so (crowd cheers) tonight we will play the record that brought us over here the first time (crowd cheers) we’re gonna play “Born to Run” from start to finish (crowd cheers) for you! (chuckles) Harold Dorman sang this first …(starts playing the rhythm and crowd starts clapping)…now you’re confusing me, you’re confusing me, hold on (chuckles) here we go …”
