CBGB Second Avenue Theatre, New York City, NY

CBGB THeater officially named CBGB Second Avenue Theatre (Original known as Public Theatre, Antillas Theatre and later as Anderson Theatre) is an old theater on Second Avenue, that Hilly Kristal thought he'd turn into an additional show venue. It didn't last past the weekend (December 27-31, 1977) because Hilly played it fast and loose with things like fire codes and renovations. Over a period of 5 days during the grand re-opening, the venue featured performances by Patti Smith and a surprise, unannounced appearance by Bruce Springsteen, Richard Hell, The Dead Boys, Talking Heads.
