The Embankment Garden Cinema was opened exclusively to commemorate the 60th British Film Institute’s BFI London Film Festival and screen its films, opening on 6th October 2016. The cinema is situated just near the Victoria Embankment Garden gate, a minute-long walk from the London Charing Cross railway station. Outside of it resides a permanent red carpet with a photo-shoot area, sheltered in case of rain, and a box office beside it. The cinema itself supports Dolby 7.1 surround sound and 4K projection, with 808 seats in total. When the film festival ended, the cinema was disassembled. It was erected again for the following London Film Festivals.
