From July 1976 to July 1981, 7 The Summit, Holmdel, New Jersey, was the primary residence of Bruce Springsteen. Songwriting and rehearsals for Darkness On the Edge of Town and The River took place in the house, or in the converted barn known as Telegraph Hill Studio. The property was located on a cul-de-sac in a private community, but Telegraph Hill Road was the main drag it was named for. His tenancy finally came to an end, while he was in Europe on The River tour in 1981, and he moved to a ranch house on the Swimming River Reservoir in Colts Neck, NJ.
