Springsteen purchased a home at 7965 Fareholm Drive, Los Angeles, California, in June 1982. Mike Batlan was instructed to install recording equipment in the garage, which became Thrill Hill West after Thrill Hill Recording Company was established. In 1990, operations were moved to Beverly Hills, and the property was sold in 2003. This is the location where the 'Hollywood Hills tapes' were recorded.
