Xanadu, Asbury Park, NJ
Club Xanadu was a disco club located a block from the beach in Asbury Park, New Jersey from the late 1970s until the late 1980s. During the club's successful life, many celebrity patrons frequented the club, and MTV hosted an event there. The club was also an early hangout for Bruce Springsteen before it changed format to dance music. Until 2008 it was a gay disco, popular with New York's male gay community who travel in to Asbury Park on budget vacations. The building is currently for sale.
